How to choose an interior designer?
When we build or buy a new home or a dream apartment, the question of what the perfect interior should look like is left to us. A lot of people, despite perfect imagination about the ideal apartment, decide to entrust the arrangement of the apartment to professional interior designers who adapt their vision to our needs and requirements.
Coloring, materials, furniture or decoration, in this area certainly professional architects will help us. However, it is worth thinking to whom to entrust the quite important issue of the appearance of the rooms of our house or flat?
The beginning of cooperation
It should be borne in mind that the interior designer is a profession, not just a passion – a hobby, which is why one should know that directional education is extremely important. Importantly, even this is not enough to make interesting projects. The most appropriate way to get acquainted with the possibilities of a given designer will be to ask for the initial plan and an individual offer. It is necessary to include in this cooperation plan all visions of the development of walls and equipment, both on a flat projection and in the form of a multimedia visualization. Thanks to this, it will be possible to get acquainted with his vision of our interior and to assess whether it hits our tastes.
Portfolio a treasury of knowledge
Undoubtedly something, thanks to which we have the opportunity to discover the preferred style of each interior designer, regardless of whether it is from Gdansk, Warsaw or Krakow is his portfolio. It is there that one can find visible evidence of the creativity with which he designs the interiors and what stands out in his work, how much dose of expression and finesse we can count on his projects. It is also a great opportunity to check in which stylistics he moves the best. If we want something in the industrial style, then a designer who specializes in Scandinavian interiors may not meet our requirements. It should also be kept in mind whether the designer knows how to get out of his comfort zone and adapt to current trends. This is often seen at the very beginning of the cooperation and you have to take into account that our project may be very similar to its previous clients, but it does not have to.
That is why choosing an interior designer is not a simple task for it. You should consider not only the candidate’s skills, but also his previous work or the ability to navigate through various styles. It is worth considering before making your choice, because the results of his work will accompany us on a daily basis!
